The Calvert C. McCabe World War II Letters consist of approximately five hundred letters written by McCabe and addressed mostly to his widowed mother, Mrs. C.C. McCabe. The correspondence, from June 1942 through October 1945, spans McCabe's entire military career.

Abstract Kenneth Elsworth Stewart, a resident of Baltimore, served in the United States Army during World War II. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and participated in the liberation of Paris. Mr. Stewart also served as Military Governor of the city of Zwickau/Saxony following the surrender of Germany. In 1954 he returned to service as commander of a tank warfare school in South Korea.
